𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐅𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟔

Spring in Santa Fe, NM is something really incredible. A huge thanks to my friend Micaela Gardner and Sarah Ashkin for having me in their warm adobe abode and for being the highest caliber of welcoming/birthday wagon a person could ever want. From Abiquiu Lake and Ghost Ranch to Bandelier National Monument and Museum of International Folk Art, plus a small (huge) hike up Sun Mountain, the week flew by and was simply a carousel of beauty.

Also, big thanks to Santa Fe Collective for having me read from my book of poems and short stories, "Knocked Completely Unconscientious" as well as shoot the opening reception of "Small Used Paintings," Micaela's latest series of paintings (see album below). Thanks again!

YACHT (Young Americans Challenging High Technology) isn't so much a band, as an entire creative enterprise that involves music, technology, design, research, manufacturing and otherwise being a sentient being from the future. Some 35mm silver gelatin prints came back from their show last year at the Teragram Ballroom and the results are really something else.

I know you won't believe me, but it really does snow in Los Angeles...you just have to know where to look! My awesome crew Ruthie Linnert, Amy Prado and the lovely Grecia Xóchitl and I headed up to about 6,000 ft. with some winter fashion to try and catch some fresh powder in the Angeles Crest. A big thanks to everyone for helping me put this together and a huge thanks to the awesome folks at Mount Waterman for letting us borrow their adorable ‪‎husky‬ puppy, Loki!

Thanks again to Anne Patterson for having me as the official photographer for her State of Grace project at Grace Cathedral. If you missed it (it closed February 28th), it was truly a sight to behold. Besides some great images for my portfolio, some of the images were published in newspapers like the SF Chronicle and magazines like CASA Vogue Brasil. Some people enter your life and you just know that you're going to be bff's. That's my friend Tasha Walker, whom is absolutely stunning in front, as well as behind the camera. A talented photographer, model, trainer and health coach, she's really a light to everyone around her and is always down for a photo adventure. A few weekends ago, we decided to try out some new locations and lighting and just went with it. The results were fabulous!

Ðíå Ðê Lð§ Mµêr†ð§ 2015

For Day of the Dead this year, I headed back to Olvera Street, one of the oldest sites in L.A., to watch the after-dark Processional of the Dead, a sacred rite that pays homage to those recently passed, as well as ancient ancestors. Caught some folkorico, elaborate costumes, Aztec dancers and a little magic on the street.

This party had it all: a full folklorico dance number, a great dj, amazing food, a proper 12-piece banda outfit, and of course, a community hall full of love. Thanks again for having me! East Los Angeles has long been the epicenter of the Chicana/o Rights Movement: From the Zoot Suit Riots of L.A. in the 1940s to the "Brown Power" Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s to the rise of the Brown Berets and student demonstrations of the 1970s, Los Angeles’ Chicana/o culture has been the vanguard of helping bring equality and dignity to people of all ethnicities.

Thanks to Stop Staring! Clothing for giving us the look we wanted to create an homage to some of these movements, along with a vintage elegance. Shooting around Hollenbeck Park​, Mariachi Square​ and Ascot Hills Park​ gave us the perfect backdrop for some amazing shots!
