East Los Angeles has long been the epicenter of the Chicana/o Rights Movement: From the Zoot Suit Riots of L.A. in the 1940s to the "Brown Power" Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s to the rise of the Brown Berets and student demonstrations of the 1970s, Los Angelesโ Chicana/o culture has been the vanguard of helping bring equality and dignity to people of all ethnicities.
Thanks to Stop Staring! Clothing for giving us the look we wanted to create an homage to some of these movements, along with a vintage elegance. Shooting around Hollenbeck Parkโ, Mariachi Squareโ and Ascot Hills Parkโ gave us the perfect backdrop for some amazing shots!
